South Pacific - Puerto Jimenez / Osa Peninsula
Lapa Rios Eco Lodge

Lapa Rios is situated in a private 1,000-acre nature reserve of Central America's last remaining lowland tropical rainforest. It is located on the Osa Peninsula, near Corcovado National Park, a region that holds an astonishing amount of ecological variety. National Geographic called it "the most biologically intense place on Earth" and ecologists have named it " the Path of the Panther".Lapa Rios is an epitome of ecotourism, which strives to show that a forest left standing is a much more sustainable source of income to a community than one that is cut down. It was designed to merge superbly with the leafy surroundings and to minimize its impact on nature.

Guests will connect with the remote wilderness of Corcovado in this serene, earthy lodge, where little separates the comfort of the warm interiors from the haunting beauty of the natural spectacles outside. Sixteen stand-alone suites are scattered across three ridges, overlooking the pristine point where the Golfo Dulce meets the wild Pacific Ocean. Each suite is a lofty tree house constructed with indigenous materials: palm-thatched roofs, bamboo, hardwoods, and stone. The room's private verandas and large windows open up to a breathtaking panorama where lush green wilderness blurs into turquoise horizons. Other facilities include a lovely terrace overlooking the rainforest, a bar with a raised central platform for stunning views, private dining in a secluded rainforest setting with a dedicated waiter, and a vast array of trips and excursions.
