JW Marriott is bringing its first all-inclusive resort worldwide to Costa Rica.
Opening September 10, 2026, JW Marriott Costa Elena Resort & Spa, All-Inclusive will sit on the beachfront at Playa El Jobo in Guanacaste and is now being added to the Costa Rican Trails portfolio.

From Swim-Out Suites to 44,000 Square Feet of Pools
The resort will have 415 suites, including swim-out options and larger Master and Griffin Club suites. Junior Suites start at 527 square feet, with a private furnished balcony or terrace and hot tub. For guests who prefer to step straight into the water, swim-out categories open onto semi-private pools.
The focus on water continues beyond the suites. The resort’s 44,000-square-foot collection of pools is described by the property as the largest in the region, with separate spaces for families and Griffin Club guests. Spa by JW adds one of Costa Rica’s largest hydrotherapy pools, while the resort also has a children’s pool and waterslide.
Eight Dining Options, Eight Bars
The resort’s dining options give guests plenty of variety throughout their stay. Eight dining options, including 24-hour room service, are joined by eight bars.
Guests can choose from Costa Rican and international dishes, along with Italian, Mexican, Pan-Asian, sushi, seafood, and other specialty concepts throughout their stay.
Different Ways to Spend the Day
Families have their own programming through the Kids Club and Family by JW, along with a children’s pool and waterslide.
The JW Garden, spa, pools, and wellness activities give guests other ways to spend their time. Those looking for more privacy can opt for the Griffin Club, with butler service, personalized check-in and checkout, its own lounge and pool, and an exclusive beach area.
A New All-Inclusive Option for Advisors
For advisors, the new resort brings together two things that have not previously existed under the JW Marriott name: the brand’s first all-inclusive experience and a beachfront setting in Guanacaste.
This addition to the Costa Rican Trails portfolio gives advisors a new option for guests who want the ease of an all-inclusive stay without being limited to one type of experience.
