Day 01 Arrival / San Jose :
Arrive by air into San Jose. Upon arrival a representative from our ground operator
will meet you at the gate and will provide you with a welcome kit on Costa Rica. Transfer to the hotel l for your first two nights in Costa Rica.

Day 02 Poas Volcano :
As we ascend towards the volcano we stop for a brief explanation on our golden bean, coffee, and then continue our trip through fern, flower and strawberry farms.
At the Poas Volcano we will have time to enjoy the impressive main crater with its sulfur fumaroles, and hike on a trail to the beautiful Botos Lagoon. After visiting the volcano, we will have time to enjoy a delicious lunch in one of the typical restaurants of the area.

Day 03 Tortuguero :
Early morning pick up for the drive through Braulio Carrillo National Park to the canals lining the Atlantic Coast, where the two-hour boat trip to Tortuguero starts. A typical breakfast is served on the way. Tortuguero National Park preserves 21,000 hectares of tropical rain forest. The lodge will schedule boat trips into the jungle for wildlife observation with a local tour guide.

Day 04 Tortuguero National Park :
Morning and afternoon boat trips through the canals of Tortuguero.

Day 05 Tortuguero- Puerto Viejo :
After breakfast, return to the docks, where your private driver will meet you and take you to Puerto Viejo.
Costa Rica's South Caribbean Coast offers abundant wildlife, pristine rain forest and plenty of activities for the adventurous. The two charming villages of Puerto Viejo and Cahuita start to live on reggae rhythms at sunset with an authentic Afro-Caribbean atmosphere. Visitors will find lots to do in the zone, beginning with sunbathing and swimming along the miles of white, sand and coral beaches. Other popular activities include kayaking, surfing, hiking and horseback riding, tours to the nearby Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge or Cahuita National Park.

Day 06-07 Puerto Viejo :
Free days to explore this area that's full of life. You can go to Manzanillo Reserve, downtowm Puerto Viejo, Cahuita National Park. Many possibilities around!

Our representative will pick you up at the hotel and take you back to San José

Day 09 Departure :
Transfer to the airport will be provided.

What to Bring:


  • Clothing: Costa Rica is a very informal and casual country. Formal attire is only used in the city of San Jose and on very special occasions (Weddings, birthdays, anniversaries)
  • We recommend to bring a sweater for the highland areas, and light loose fitting shirts, jeans, and shorts for the lowland areas.
  • For the beach areas please don't forget to bring a hat or cap, sunscreen, and sun glasses.
  • For the rainforest and the National Parks we recommend hiking boots, a small backpack, water bottle, pocket knife, flashlight, insect repellent, rainwear, and a pair of binoculars to observe animals.
