8 days / 7 nights

Tres Leches (three milks) is a delicious dessert made with condensed and evaporated milk, whipping cream and a touch of rum. Discover three dramatic Costa Rican attractions in a 4 X 4 vehicle. From the spectacular Arenal Volcano and the moon-like landscapes of Rincon de La Vieja Volcano to the stunning Cluod Forest of Monteverde, you're bound to be enthralled with your Tres Leches experience...

Day 1 Arrival / San Jose :
Meet and greet at the international airport and transfer to Fleur de Lys Hotel for your first night in Costa Rica (B).

Day 2 Arenal Volcano :
After an orientation meeting with a Costa Rican Trails representative you will pick up your 4X4 vehicle and drive through the scenic San Carlos Valley to Arenal Volcano where you will check into the Arenal Paraiso. Relax in the thermal waters and enjoy Arenal's dramatic performance or receive an invigorating spa treatment.(B)

Day 3-4 Rincon de la Vieja :
Depart for Rincon de la Vieja National Park. Upon arrival you will check into Hacienda Guachipelin, an excellent base for exploring the park. During your two-night stay here, a wide range of activities is made available to you. Choose from a tour to the blue lagoon at Rincon de la Vieja National Park viewing bubbling mud pools and fumaroles, horseback riding, mountain biking, nature hikes, or just browsing through the insect and butterfly collection or the serpentarium at the lodge. Day 5-6 Monteverde Cloud Forest :
Depart after breakfast for the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve, one of the most diverse and richest tropical could forests in the New World and home of the resplendent Quetzal and the rare bellbird. After check in, feel free to explore your new surroundings. What to Bring:

Clothing: Costa Rica is a very informal and casual country. Formal attire is only used in the city of San Jose and on very special occasions (Weddings, birthdays, anniversaries)
We recommend to bring a sweater for the highland areas, and light loose fitting shirts, pants or jeans, and shorts for the lowland areas.
For the beach areas please don't forget to bring a hat or cap, sunscreen, and sun glasses.
For the rainforest and the National Parks we recommend hiking boots, a small backpack, water bottle, pocket knife, flashlight, insect repellent, rainwear, and a pair of binoculars to observe animals.
