Hacienda Guachipelin - Rincon de la Vieja Costa Rica

Hacienda Guachipelín is a Costa Rican rural style hotel located at the foot of Rincon de la Vieja Volcano. For more than a century Hacienda Guachipelin has been a working ranch dedicated to cattle and horse breeding. Nowadays, the property comprises 1600 hectares of land, of which 700 hectares are set aside for the conservation of the tropical dry forest; 575 hectares are used as pastureland and 325 hectares are being reforested with tropical species in danger of extinction.
Hacienda Guachipelin is a special setting for nature lovers and adventure travellers. Natural hot springs, virgin forests, jungle waterfalls and volcanic mud pots are just some of the many attractions visitors can enjoy during a stay at the Hacienda.
The hotel's rustic accommodations are cozy and comfortable, encircled by wide terraces which are great for evening chats. It is surrounded by lush gardens with exquisite views of the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano and of the cobalt Pacific Ocean.

Rincon de la Vieja, Guanacaste

From San Jose, drive to Liberia on the Interamerican Highway. From the main intersection in Liberia (you'll notice the three gas stations and Burger King), drive 5 kilometers north, towards the Nicaraguan border, and turn right at the entrance to Curubande/Rincon de la Vieja National Park/Las Pailas sector. It is a 14 kilometers drive on a dirt road to the village of Curubande, and another kilometer to the gate at Hacienda Guachipelín.
