On the southern Nicoya Peninsula, only 2.5 miles (4 km) from Cabo Blanco Nature Reserve, are the small beach towns of Malpaís and Santa Teresa. How to get there:
From San Jose
Take the Panamerican Highway # 1 through Palmares and San Ramon towards Puntarenas. You must reach downtown Puntarenas and follow the signs to reach the Paquera Ferry Boat.
The ferry ride takes about one and a half hour.Once in Paquera drive towards
Tambor and then Cobano. At Cobano turn left and follow the signs to Montezuma or continue straight to Cabo Blanco National Park, and follow the signs to Mal Pais and Santa Teresa.
