From San Jose Take the Panamerican Highway #1 North towards San Ramon / Puntarenas. You will pass the International airport. Stay on the Panamerican road for about 10-15 minutes more, until you see an exit for a town called Atenas. There is a sign that reads Atenas / Orotina / Jaco. Take this exit and turn left immediately driving towards to Atenas/Orotina/ Jacó. Once in Orotina follow the signs to Jaco and Quepos/ Manuel Antonio Nat. Park. On the way stop at the Tarcoles Bridge to take a look at the crocodiles. Please be be aware of your unattended car!!! Continue South and you will find the Carara National Park which is a great place to spot wildlife and the Scarlet Macaw (red parrot). Continue through the road and signs until you reach Jaco beach.
