Day 1 Irazu Volcano to Turrialba Volcano

Pick up at your hotel in San Jose to begin today's adventure., on the way stop for a typical breakfast.
Drive to Irazu volcano where we will take the bicycles, Downhill ride on the slopes of our highest Volcano, through Turrialba volcano and finalizing in Espino Blanco Lodge.
Turrialba Volcano, a stratovolcano, is the western most volcano in Costa Rica's Central Mountain Range, with a summit elevation of 3340 meters or 10,958 feet. There are three main craters at the summit, allowing visitors a spectacular view of various fumaroles and sulfur pits. The last major eruption was in 1856, but in January 2001, the volcano reported increased activity, displaying strong fumaroles at the central craters.
We will l cross 38 kilometers approximately, this day is 90% downhill and 10% uphill.
Day 2 National Monument Guayabo
:
We leave the Hotel course to the National Monument Guayabo, Costa Rica's most important archaeological site and its only named National Monument.
Entrance to the National Monument Guayabo is optional.
Continue to Turrialba downtown to Casa Turire Hotel, today you will ride approximately 40 km, 30% downhill and 50% plane and 20% uphill.
Day 3 Orosi Valley

We leave the hotel to the Valley of Orosi through Pejibaye river , Humo de Pejibaye and the National Park Tapanti.
Orosi is a town in the Cartago Province, situated on the Reventazon River in the Orosi Valley. The cultivation of coffee is the leading industry in the area. Orosi has a population of approximately 4,600 and has the oldest Catholic church still in use in Costa Rica. We will cross 40 km approximately, 25% downhill and 40% plane and 35% uphill.

- Clothing: Costa Rica is a very informal and casual country. Formal attire is only used in the city of San Jose and on very special occasions (Weddings, birthdays, anniversaries)
- We recommend to bring a sweater for the highland areas, and light loose fitting shirts, pants or jeans, and shorts for the lowland areas.
- For the beach areas please don´t forget to bring a hat or cap, sunscreen, and sun glasses.
- For the rainforest and the National Parks we recommend hiking boots, a small backpack, water bottle, pocket knife, flashlight, insect repellent, rainwear, and a pair of binoculars to observe animals.
