Los Santos Trek

Called Zona Santa, or ‘Saint’s Zone, ’ this region of redolent coffee plantations and cool cloud forests isn’t exactly a destination, but rather a collection of highland villages at the heart of relaxed, rural Costa Rica. Day 1: Transfer to Los Santos :
At 1,853 meters in altitude, this small valley is home to the community of Copey, and features unique conditions for hiking, photography, horseback riding, fishing, bird-watching and other leisure activities. Visitors can enjoy flower farms and apple orchards, typical architecture, natural landscapes and more.

Our highland tour starts to the surroundings of La Muerte hill until arriving to La Cima de Dota detour. At this point you will have the opportunity of viewing the beautiful landscape such as Copey Valley. As the trip progresses, you will be able to see how fruit and vegetable crops are mixed with nature, giving you unique scenes of the country.

Afterwards, we will arrive to Copey de Dota town. In this place you will visit a monument considered as a Historical Heritage and then, you will be part of a highland fruittour. This tour will show you apple, prune, peach and hass avocado crops.

We will have a typical lunch inside the property, which will be made of local products. The next place to be visited is Santa Marí­a. Here you will experience a Coffee Tour in anecological processing plant, where you will know the process and taste the coffee.

Day 2: Copey - Betania :
Today you will starts with a transfer on 4wd from the hotel Toucanet to a place know "Grates" (Aprx. 2 hours), Then you will start your adventure, the trekking crosses Los Santos forest reserve, it has a certain degree of difficulty. It takes around 5-6 hours the depending on the group pace. You will be arriving to the Camping area in Betania around 3 pm.

Day 3: Betania - Casa Parra :
This route takes around 6 to 7, the depending on the group pace. You will stay Casa Parra located in San Maria de Dota.

Day 4: Casa Parra - Londres :
Todays trekking will be on gravel road It takes around 6 to 7 all the way to Londres, the depending on the group pace. We can offer assistance on the way and provided a 4x4 transfer to Londres. (B/L)

Return to San José.
