For the ocean lovers, just a 45-minute ride away you'll find the surfers paradise of Malpais and Santa Teresa. Rent a surfboard and hit the waves or if you're a first timer take a class at one of the surf schools you'll find in town.

If you're a wildlife enthusiasts, Cabo Blanco Reserve is found down the road in Cabuya or take the time to visit Curu wildlife refuge where you will encounter scarlet macaws, spider monkeys, and deer to name a few.
