The tour departs from Villa Blanca at 8:00 a.m., taking the road to San Ramón, then south on the Pan-American Highway. During the drive your guide will discuss the generalities of Costa Rica , including its history and politics, as well as identify the different crops that are located along the travel route: coffee, tobacco, sugar cane, strawberries, and a variety of colorful flowering trees.
Once at the volcano's summit, you will enter Poas National Park and learn about the evolution, history, vegetation, and principal eruptions of Poas Volcano. You'll stop for a typical Costa Rican lunch before going on to the Waterfalls and Butterfly Gardens at La Paz. From there you'll continue on to the town of Sarchi, home to the typical artisans of Costa Rica, where you will visit the famous oxcart factories.
