Neighboring La Selva Biological Station, the Sarapiquí River offers the best wildlife viewing opportunities. The Sarapiqui's rapids are moderate class II-III. Thus, it is the perfect adventure for families with children. In addition, the clear, warm water is perfect for enjoying a swim between rapids.
Because its relatively small drainage area the Sarapiqui does become too low to run in the dry season. It is recommended at medium to high water levels during the rainy season.
