Day 01 Arrival - San Jose :
Arrive by air into San Jose. Upon arrival a representative from Costa Rican Trails will meet you at the gate and will provide you with a welcome kit on Costa Rica. Transfer to the El Rodeo Country Inn Hotel for your first night in Costa Rica.
Overnight at the El Rodeo, Superior rooms. Breakfast included.

Day 02 San Jose - Tortuguero :
After breakfast, early morning departure for Tortuguero. Enjoy a scenic drive through the Braulio Carrillo National Park and then a three-hour boat trip to the canals of Tortuguero.

Upon arrival to Laguna Lodge enjoy a welcome cocktail and lunch. The lodge will then schedule a visit to the Turtle Museum and town of Tortuguero.
Afternoon free to relax in the pool or take advantage of the hiking trails.
In the evening, after a delicious meal, you will relax along the canal's edge with a cocktail and enjoy the night sounds of the jungle.

Day 03 Tortuguero Canals :
During the day enjoy scheduled boat tours to the small canals for wildlife observation. A jungle adventure of a lifetime! Think Amazon, only on a smaller scale. Tortuguero National Park, with its 21,000 hectares of preserved tropical rain forest, provides one of the best opportunities to experience a wide range of tropical wildlife.
Entrance fee to Tortuguero National Park included.

Day 04 Tortuguero - Arenal :
Enjoy a scenic boat ride back to the Caño Blanco Port. Take shuttle transfer to the Arenal area. The flawless silhouette of Arenal Volcano, its loud rumblings and frequent explosions of lava and ash are a sight not to be missed by any visitor to Costa Rica.
Afternoon arrival to the Arenal Paraiso Hotel, your home-base for that night.
Enjoy an invigorating spa treatment at their spa or just relax at the natural spring pool.

Day 05 La Fortuna Waterfall (horseback riding) :
A beautiful example of the Costa Rican country site will be found along the way, cattle farms and agriculture, also the chance to see some birds as oropendolas and toucans. After that you have to walk five hundred meters into the forest to get to the waterfall, which is 70 meters high. At the base of the waterfall there is a “natural pool” where we can swim in the fresh water of La Fortuna river for about one hour.
The length of the tour is approximately four hours; from La Fortuna we have to go 5 ½ kilometers to the southeast. We spend 1 ½ hours to get to the rest site of the horses.

Arenal Volcano Hike & Ecotermales Hot Springs
A late afternoon visit to the trails of El Mirador and the volcanic thermal mineral pools at the Hot Springs is included. Arenal Volcano is breathtaking after dark when its thundering explosions and bursts of glowing rock light the night sky.Dinner is included and served at the Hot Springs restaurant.

Day 06 Arenal - Monteverde :
Pickup at the hotel for the scenic shared lake crossing transfer (boat-car) shuttle bus transfer to Monteverde.

The Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve is one of the most diverse and rich tropical cloud forests in the New World and home to the resplendent Quetzal and the rare bell bird. Monteverde is not only interesting for the Cloud Forest Reserve’s inhabitants, but also for its founders, the Quakers. Trapp Family Lodge will be your home-base for two nights. After check-in, feel free to explore your new surroundings.

Day 07 Monteverde Cloudforest - Sky Trek :
In the morning you will hike through the well marked trails of the Monteverde Cloud forest Reserve. Then enjoy an afternoon adventure at the Sky Trek Zipline & Tram tour. This is a system of seven platforms suspended above the ground in the midst of tree boughs. Zip lines attached from one platform to another will allow you to slide with the use of special equipment. In Sky Tram explore the world famous Cloud Forest of Monteverde in a 5,249 feet ride that would lead you up to Costa Rica Continental Divide.

Day 08 Granada :
Transfer to the border between Costa Rica and Nicaragua, Peñas Blancas. Then a continue to Granada for your first night in Nicaragua( private transfers)

Built by the Spanish conquistadors in 1524, Granada is the best place for tourism because of its beauty and colonial architecture, charming hotels and activities to enjoy nearby; Lake Nicaragua and the islands, Mombacho volcano with its natural reserve, Masaya and its folklore.

Day 09 Masaya and the Pueblos :
This tour start in the city of Masaya. You will discover the First National Park created in Nicaragua, the active Masaya Volcano, as well as its small museum dedicated to the volcano’s history.

Then you will visit the finest Handicraft Market where you can enjoy the creativity and variety of Nicaraguan art at bargain prices.
Continue to Catarina where you will enjoy delicious lunch with a magnificent view on the Apoyo lagoon, Mombacho volcano, Granada and Lake Nicaragua. Late afternoon, visit San Juan de Oriente, famous for its ceramic arts.

Day 10 Ometepe Island :
Take an unforgettable journey to one of the most beautiful places of Nicaragua. Ometepe Island, the biggest island of the world on a fresh water lake. The excursion starts by heading towards the southern part of the country, getting to San Jorge's port where we will take a ferry that will take us to Ometepe, where you will be able to enjoy spectacular views and one of the most impressive ones of all Nicaragua. We will visit places like the, the Green Puddle's lagoon, Santo Domingo beach, and “Ojo de agua” water springs.

Day 11 Tour Volcan Concepcion :
The Concepción is a near perfect cone-shaped volcano. It is the biggest on Ometepe, with a height of 1,610 meters. The volcano is still active. Smoke is coming out of its crater, and there are other fumaroles on the volcano’s slope as well.

Day 12 Panama Beach :
Time to relax on the beach!! After breakfast, take the ferry transfer back Peñas Blancas (Costa Rica border). Continue to Panama Beach in Guanacaste.

Playa Panamá e 1 mile extension of taupe sand beach is bathed by clear waters with a soft current. One of the friendliest places on the northern Guanacaste shores, as locals here mix easily with visitors to create an environment that is perfect for those who want some peace and quiet.
Ideal for those who enjoy sunbathing long walks along the shore, and a tranquil atmosphere.
Many water sports can be enjoyed including fishing, swimming, and windsurfing, among others, from a beach surrounded by the exuberant vegetation after which the beach was named.
