In Costa Rican Trails we are contributing to protect our world, Would you like to help us too?
The Climate Change Friendly program endorsed by the Control Union Certifications, together with the Tropical Science Center and the National University of Costa Rica through the Atmospheric Chemical Laboratory and the Forestry Services and Research Institute, in coordination with local enterprises are running a program to compensate carbon emissions from any type of transportation.
The Tropical Science Center is one of the first organizations in Costa Rica dedicated to the protection and conservation of the natural resources in Central America, and precisely for this reason it was declared of public interest by the government of Costa Rica in 1996.
With more than 40 years of experience, the TSC supports the development of public environmental policies and has helped to create most of the more important protected public and private areas in the country, including the world-renown Monteverde Cloud Forest Preserve.
The work of the TSC includes applied scientific research, biodiversity conservation, management of tropical forests, research on global warming, ornithology, environmental economics, biological corridors and sustainable use of land, strategies to advance ecological economics, certification of the means to mitigate the emission of carbon gases, environmental education, community participation programs, species under threat of extinction, rainforest protection, and more.
WHAT CAN WE DO TO HELP?
The globe is facing an unprecedented imbalance; an excess of Carbon Dioxide in the atmosphere is heating up our planet. We need to act immediately to let the Earth breathe better through trees and plants by absorbing the excess of CO 2. Through reforestation we can all lower CO2 emissions; companies, car owners, users of air transportation and people who simply want to buy a tree through our program Climate Change Friendly.
If you want to cut down on emissions because of you fly in airplanes, or if you just want to plant one or two trees, we invite you to join our program.
Costa Rican Trails is part of this program to minimize the CO2 emissions. Last September 29, our staff planted 250 trees in San Rafael, Heredia, so we helped to mitigate 49 tons of CO2.
We want to make our visitors part of this effort too, so we offer them the opportunity to plant a tree in Costa Rica, and help us to reducing air pollution and climatic upheaval.
By Working Together, We can make a difference in our world
Following please find the table for your flight Carbon Dioxide Emissions per year:
