CELESTE MOUNTAIN LODGE

The Celeste Mountain Lodge sits on a 3 hectares green area and 4 hectares of protected primary forest, located 3 kms east of Bijagua de Upala, 40 kms north of the InterAmerican Highway town of Cañas, 3 hours from Alajuela and San Jose airport and 1 hr from Liberia.

The Lodge is an ideal, conveniently located base for exploring this region still unknown; a region of great natural beauty, abounding wildlife and things to do.

The views from the Lodge are impressive, with the Cerro Montezuma (third hump of the Tenorio volcano) facing arrogantly the property as a massive green wall, sometimes mysteriously fading in a passing mist and in the valley below lays the small and peaceful village of Bijagua.

The Lodge's Style
Celeste Mountain Lodge boasts a very innovative, contemporary design, altering traditional parameters in hotel architecture, opening walls and spaces, blending the different areas and inviting the beauty of the surroundings right inside the building. The lodge has been designed under bio-climatic standards in order to adapt to the local conditions and under our Responsible Tourism philosophy, offering a comfortable, yet functional accommodation and stay.

The Celeste Mountain Lodge offers:

Activities

There are many things to do around the village of Bijagua and Celeste Mountain Lodge, such as visit to Rio Celeste, National park Volcan Tenorio, mountain bike or walking, horseback-riding, cycling, visit to suspended bridges, boating and rafting, Caño Negro (National Fauna Sanctuary), Miravalles Volcano Geo-thermal plant, Hot springs, Refuge “Las Pumas”, and visit to Guatuso where there are the native “Maleku” Indian communities.
