Next March, there will be a new hotel development in the North Pacific of Guanacaste which will offer a variety of products and services to its visitors. Mediterraneus Hotel is located in the area known as “Golden Coast”, in Playa Potrero, Guanacaste.

This $6 million development covers one hectare of land and it will include 52 Junior Suites, with direct phone line, plasma TV, mini bar, coffee maker, wireless internet, transportation to the beach, spa, restaurant and the latest technology, among other facilities. This will be the first non-smoking hotel complex, so this hotel will be suitable for children, families and guests who want to just relax.

Carlos Gutiérrez, owner of the Mediterraneus hotel, said that the design will have unique features, with marble ornaments, and specific elements that combine with colonial-European style.
“We want guests to feel comfortable in our hotel and feel like they have reach Paradise, with high quality service, to become a five star hotel. We expect to receive local and international tourists, from middle to high class.

Following the environmental protection model, we will implement sustainable practices, we have installed water treatment plants, a good management of disposals, solar panels to generate electricity and heat, underground illumination and recycled water irrigation systems.

“We are very interested in protecting our environment, and for this reason we have decided to have sustainable practices; also we have a program to plant trees in the area to build an atmosphere in harmony with nature. Once we star operating, we will look to obtain the Sustainable Tourism Certification, granted by the Costa Rican Tourism Board.
