IBERIA INCREASES THE NUMBER OF SEATS TO COSTA RICA

The Spanish Airline, IBERIA, will increase 20.000 seats in all its direct flights to Costa Rica for 2008.

This announcement was made by Carlos Ricardo Benavides, Costa Rica’s Minister of Tourism, after a meeting with the Iberia CEO, Fernando Comte. Benavides said that the airline will alternate flights to Costa Rica with bigger airplanes.

As of Today, the airline flies to Costa Rica with Airbus A340/300 with 260 seats. Since June last year, this airline offers seven direct flights each week from Madrid to San José, increasing its offer to 92.000 annual seats in this route.

Now, Iberia has become the first European airline with direct daily flights to our country. The agreement was signed during FITUR (International Tourism Fair), held last month in Spain.
Also, Iberia and the Costa Rican Tourism Board have signed an agreement to increase promotions in order to attract more Spanish tourists to Costa Rica.
