To reach Tambor, visitors proceed from San Jose to Puntarenas - approximately a two hour drive. Puntarenas offers a ferry for vehicles (get there early!) and a passenger ferry to the Nicoya Peninsula. The car ferry and the passenger ferry land at Paquera, located approximately 35 minutes from Tambor. Each ferry runs a minimum of six times each day, however, guests are advised to check with resort staff for the most current ferry schedule, as the ferry times are subject to change.
