Punta Marenco is a small rustic lodge located right in front of a pristine tropical beach and surrounded by the Punta Rio Claro National Wildlife Refuge which encompasses 500 hectares of rain forest. The remoteness of the area has allowed this corner of the world to maintain its natural beauty. It is also the gateway to Corcovado National Park, one of the most important natural preserves in Mesoamerica and one of the last refuges for jaguars, giant anteaters, tapir, white lipped peccaries and a host of rare rain forest animals.
The lodge has one of the best locations on the Osa Peninsula, with idyllic, thatched-roof cabins along a ridge overlooking the sea. Its comfortable accommodations offer private porches with two hammocks perfect for siestas and stargazing and panoramic views of the Pacific and the surrounding jungle. Toucans, scarlet macaws and many other birds will probably be part of the morning visitors . The cozy rancho style restaurant offers delicious homemade meals.
