El Sapo Dorado is a mountain lodge strategically located near the town of Santa Elena and the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. It offers 30 bungalow style suites secluded around the abundant green gardens. Guests will feel as if they were in their own private cabin in the middle of the rainforest. The suites have been designed to provide a comfortable and cozy atmosphere and some of them have a fireplace that will warm up guests on chilly nights while they relax enjoying a cup of hot chocolate with the crackling sound of burning wood.
At Sapo Dorado guests can walk along the private trails that extend for about 3 miles (5 km) into the cloud forest, bordering the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve. They can explore both primary and secondary forests as they open into pastures with panoramic views of the Gulf of Nicoya. The whole area of Monteverde is beautiful and some find it hard to believe that there are still places like it in the world.

Food & Beverages: The crew at El Sapo Dorado Restaurant will be more than glad to prepare guest’s favorite dishes. The restaurant is known for its unique, creative and diverse cuisine. It features fresh veggie dishes, pastas, seafood, chicken, beef and decadent desserts. The restaurant’s bar offers the most exotic of cocktails and a wide selection of fine wines.
