Turrialba Volcano is Costa Rica's most easterly volcano which is a dormant giant and part of the Irazu's massif. It is one of the most accessible volcanoes in the world. Visitors can ascend to the peak of the volcano, walk in its crater, and have the opportunity to get great panoramic views of the Costa Rica, 11,148 feet (3,328 meters) above sea level. From Turrialba`s peak visitors can watch the Irazu, Barva and Poas Volcanoes, the Atlantic Coast and all of its plains, the Central Valley and the highest mountain chain in the country, Talamanca.
The Volcan Turrialba Lodge offers a restaurant that serves homemade Costa Rican meals cooked on a wood stove. The dining room is surrounded by large windows with great views of the lush gardens and the mountains. Before or after dinner, guests can relax in a cozy bar, that serves top quality liquors.
With only twenty two rooms, each with private bath and fire stove, it's almost like having your own mountain retreat.

Volcan Turrialba Lodge is a mountain hotel located in Turrialba, Cartago. The lodge sits on a strip of land between the Turrialba and Irazu Volcanoes. The lodge offers comfort and relaxation surrounded by abundant tropical forests, cool fresh air and amazing views of the twin volcanoes. The lodge has 12 comfortable rooms with private bathroom and a cozy dining lounge where guests can savour delicious homemade Costa Rican meals prepared on a wood stove.

Take the Pan American Highway South, to Cartago. Once you arrive Cartago at Las Ruinas, turn left and go one block north to Avenida 4, turn right and continue driving east all the way through town until you reach a Y just after calle 16. Turn left after the Basilica de los Angeles and continue driving for 19 mile (31 km) towards Irazu Volacano, following the signs. You must turn left before Cot and right before Tierra Blanca (if you reach either of these two points you've missed a turn). Follow the signs to the hotel.
