From Juan Santamaria International Airport in San Jose: The first step will be to get on the San Jose - Guapiles highway, also known as the Braulio Carrillo Highway. So you have to head first to San Jose down town by turning right when exiting the airport and follow the main highway for 11 miles (18 km). When you get to the first traffic lights that means that the highway has ended, this is San Jose. At the second set of traffic lights you will make a left (East) turn onto Paseo Colon. Drive through Paseo Colon for about 1 km or 8 traffic lights and take a right and the next left. You will see a gas station and a park in front of it; this is where Avenida Segunda (Second Avenue) begins. You will continue on Avenida Segunda for about 8 blocks. Make a left turn onto Calle 3 until you reach a crossroads, continue forward, that’s the beginning of road 32, which drives to Limon. Once in Limón, turn right at the Texaco gas station and follow the signs for Puerto Viejo ( 75 miles / 49 km from Limon). Once you arrive to Puerto Viejo Town continue to Manzanillo, you will see the hotel signs on the right hand side.
