Pochote Grande - Jaco Beach Costa Rica

Hotel Pochote Grande Hotel is located in Jaco, Puntarenas at the quiet northern end of this 2 1/2 mile beach. This beach front hotel has 24 rooms surrounded by tropical gardens and a beautiful partially shaded swimming pool. Behind the garden there is a gateway that leads guests directly onto the beach. In the middle of the property there is a ''Pochote Grande'' or large Pochote tree which provides shade to many birds and animals such as owls, iguanas, squirrels and even a racoon family. The hotel's large, clean rooms have either a terrace or a balcony with diagonal views of the beach, garden and pool.
During the day guests can take tours to Carara National Park, or Manuel Antonio. They can also go horseback riding, rafting, surf all day or just relax and hang around the pool. Within walking distance visitors can reach downtown Jaco were they will find an array of typical and international restaurants and interesting shops.

Jaco Beach

The trip takes between 1 1/2 to 2 hours driving from San Jose. When leaving San Jose take the main highway (Carretera Interamericana) going North towards Puntarenas. The highway will pass the Juan Santa Maria airport. Stay on the Interamericana for about 10-15 minutes more, until you see an exit for a town (pueblo) called Atenas. There is a sign that reads Atenas / Orotina / Jaco. Take this exit and continue driving following the signs to Jaco.
