The Morgan’s Rock Package is designed to
give you a good idea of the main attractions at Morgan’s Rock Hacienda and Ecolodge by combining elements of Nature & Ecotourism, Agrotourism
and Reforestation as well as Colonial
Nicaragua & Culture.
Itinerary:
Day 01 (Arrival – Nicaragua)
Arrival at the International airport in Managua. Upon arrival a representative of our company will meet you at the airport and provide private transfer to the Hacienda.
Overnight at Morgans Rock, one bungalow. All meals included.
Day 02 (The Magic of Reforestation).
Leave the lodge in one of our vehicles after breakfast at 8:00 am.Learn and experience the process of reforestation from the planting of the seed to harvest.
Learn about deforestation on a global level and how reforestation efforts can help.
Plant a tree in the Morgan’s Rock tropical dry forest reserve and have a picture taken with you. Over the next years, we will keep sending you pictures of the development
of your tree. Duration 3 hours.
Rest of the day free to relax and enjoy the surroundings.
Overnight at Morgans Rock, one bungalow. All meals included.
Day 03 (Breakfast at the Farm – Riverbed Nature Walk)
Breakfast on the Farm; food does not grow in supermarkets. Most of the products that we serve at Hacienda Morgan’s Rock are produced on our Haciendas and you have the
opportunity to learn all about it. This is called “Agro tourism.” Rise early and depart the hotel on a horseback or horse carriage. Milking the cows, picking up eggs and preparing
a typical hearty breakfast at the house of the animal caretaker is the first part of the tour. We then visit all the animals, the various fields of rice, beans, and vegetables and finish with a visit to the butterfly farm and the flower gardens. You return to the
hotel after a visit to the fruit trees and a sampling of the fruits in season. Duration 2 1/2 hours including breakfast.
Riverbed Nature Walk
This hike is offered in the morning and afternoon.. Leave the lodge after lunch (2 pm)
and explore the various ecosystems and forests that Hacienda Morgan’s Rock offers.
See monkeys, tropical birds, reptiles and other dry forest animals while hiking through dry riverbeds and nature trails. Learn about the different kind of plants and trees found
in the nature reserve. Duration 2 hours.

Day 04 (Full day excursion to Granada, markets and volcanoes)
Visit the Mombacho Natural Reserve and its tropical cloud forest, a paradise for nature lovers. We will take you to the top of this extinct volcano, 1150 meters above sea level.
Explore the nature trail around one of the craters, with incredible views to Granada,Lake Nicaragua & the “Isletas”.
After a typical Nicaraguan lunch, we will visit the colonial city of Granada , founded as the first city in continental America in 1524 featuring classical and neo-classical
buildings, antique churches and horse-drawn carriages! The tour ends with a boat ride on Lake Nicaragua to explore some of the 365 small islands called “Isletas” that are
remains of an eruption of the Mombacho volcano. Duration: 9 hrs.
Day 05 (Departure)
Departure. Transfer to the International airport in Managua or Peñas Blancas border back to Costa Rica.
